Middle Grades 5-8
Aloha,
Welcome to all students in Middle Grades 5-8 and families! As the middle grades counselor, my office is open and I welcome students to stop in with whatever they have going on. These years of adolescents can be both an exciting and challenging time of identity development. My hope is to help students embrace the most authentic version of themselves as they explore their personal values. I am here to help students socially, emotionally, academically, and as they begin to consider future careers.
Students are encouraged to seek counseling for help in identifying problems, making important decisions, and resolving conflict. Small support groups are available to bring together students with similar concerns for joint problem-solving and peer support. The counselor has a variety of resources to help students be successful, including information on community-based assistance. Students with concerns of any nature are strongly encouraged to visit the Counseling Center. Appointments or drop-in visits are options.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. I am here to mālama students and families throughout their middle grade years at HAAS.
- Ways to see the counselor:
1. Students may stop by the counseling office! Ask to chat, and share what is going on.
2. Students and parents/guardians can email Ms. Carrie to schedule a meeting.
3. A teacher may contact the counseling center if they feel it is necessary for a student to be seen right away.
4. The counselor may initiate a meeting with a student.
