We will have no school for students on Monday, January 26 to allow time to clean up the Pele’s hair and tephra that fell across our sites this weekend. Employees will report to work but will work indoors during the clean-up process.
School will resume on Tuesday, January 27th. The Hawai’i County Civil Defense recommendations include avoiding ash exposure to skin, eyes, and respiratory system. As such, we encourage students to wear clothing (such as closed toe shoes) to help prevent such possible exposure in fields and outdoor spaces.
